Fall STAR Testing
As we settle into the beginning of the school year, students in grades K-10 will complete their fall STAR testing. You may be wondering, what are STAR Assessments? Well, STAR Assessments are short tests that provide teachers with learning data in the areas of Early Literacy, Reading, and Math. The tests are computer adaptive, which means they adjust to each answer your child provides. This helps teachers get the best data to help your child in the shortest amount of testing time. The tests take approximately 20 minutes or so. Teachers use this data to learn what students already know, to monitor growth, and determine which students may need additional help. Students also use the fall data to set academic goals for the school year. We encourage your child to get plenty of rest during the testing window and to do their very best!
