Congratulations to Jay Duellman, Groundskeeper and recipient of the February Stronger Together Award
Each month all staff members have the opportunity to nominate their peers for the School District of Arcadia Stronger Together Award. The purpose of the Stronger Together Award is to recognize employees who serve our district in an exceptional manner by collaborating with staff, inspiring students, and engaging families. Congratulations to Jay Duellman, Groundskeeper, and recipient of the February Stronger Together Award.

As the district's Groundskeeper, Jay spends countless hours...even weekends...and in all kinds of weather...from summer's heat to winter's cold and snow...keeping each of our building's grounds looking their best so students and staff can feel proud to attend and work on a beautiful, manicured campus and in well-maintained buildings. When the snow comes, he ensures students and staff have safe routes in and out of our buildings with plowed, shoveled, and salted driveways, parking lots, and sidewalks.

Jay takes great pride in his work and our schools. He pours his heart and soul into all of his duties. He usually shows up to work early and tends to stay late. He is always willing to give a helping hand. We are lucky to have him on our Raider team! Recently,

Jay went above and beyond the call of duty when the water pipe burst out under the elementary kitchen floor. With very little hesitation, he offered to work on his hands and knees with urgency in a very unpleasant and tight crawl space of our building. Together with our maintenance staff, including Chuck Haines and Terry Daffinson, they collaborated and problem solved solutions to fixing the older plumbing issues. These efforts saved our district from a major financial burden.

The School District of Arcadia is grateful for Jay and thank him for his dedication to the Arcadia community.
