5th Grade Sledding Trip

When it comes to making memories with students, it doesn’t get any better than an afternoon sledding or tubing in Wisconsin. The fifth graders celebrated their second quarter by packing up the buses and heading to Whitetail Ridge at Fort McCoy in Sparta, Wisconsin for a day of snow tubing,

For many of the students, this would be their very first time experiencing this Wisconsin winter activity of sledding/snow tubing. To a 5th grader the hill looked more like a mountain as the students were directed to grab a tube and head up the hill on the Magic Carpet lift. This in itself was fun! When they reached the top, choices were made either as individuals or by hooking five tubes together. The air filled with gleeful sounds of terror as they chose one of the five icy runs on an 800 foot long slope to descend upon.

It was a beautiful and fun filled day, one that students are sure to remember for a lifetime!
